The Venturi mask, also known as the air entrainment mask, is a medical device used to deliver a known concentration of oxygen to patients receiving controlled oxygen therapy. It is an oxygen therapy device made according to the Venturi principle, mainly used for high-flow oxygen delivery, capable of accurately controlling oxygen concentration, and suitable for a variety of medical scenarios.
Working principle of the Venturi mask
The Venturi mask works on the Venturi principle, that is, when oxygen enters the mask through a narrow channel, negative pressure is generated, carrying a certain amount of air from the open edge into the mask. The size of the mask seam can change the ratio of air to oxygen, thereby accurately controlling the oxygen concentration. This design makes the inhaled oxygen concentration constant and basically without rebreathing.
